On a beautiful, spring-like day in January, Danielle and I hiked up Pyramid mountain to Tripod rock. The short hike was a bit anti-climactic after the time we spent in the car trying to find the place. But the dark chocolate and sandwiches I had brought from the Fruited Plain helped.

This huge boulder sits atop three rocks, and has for millennia.

This, unfortunately, was our view. I was a blundering idiot on the trail, as well as in the car. I didn't read the trail map well and we ended up skipping the path that led to the real view and retracing our steps back to the car instead. But it was fun anyway.
